Vitesco Technologies established a strategic partnership with DHL Supply Chain, where DHL serves as the Lead Logistics Partner (LLP).
Commencing in March, DHL will centrally manage the logistics operations of Vitesco Technologies’ twelve European locations from the LLP Center of Excellence based in Warsaw, Poland.
This partnership entails overseeing approximately 100,000 transport movements within the supply chain, encompassing transportation to and from the plants to customers. This accounts for around a third of Vitesco Technologies’ total freight volume.
“The main driver of our business is the development and production of sustainable technologies for the mobility of tomorrow. We want to run this business in a CO2-neutral way by 2040. Sustainable logistics solutions are an important step along this path, which we will be taking together with DHL Supply Chain in the future,” stated Thomas Kirchermeier, head of Supply Chain Management at Vitesco Technologies.
The new logistics approach brings significant advantages, particularly as DHL Supply Chain, acting as the lead logistics partner, consolidates freight volumes from various large companies to generate synergy effects, opening up fresh opportunities for optimization.
According to a statement, leveraging the entire market of freight carriers and forwarding agents, logistics experts can deliver the quickest, safest, most eco-friendly, and cost-efficient transport solutions. This benefits not only Vitesco Technologies but also all customers, fostering more resilient and reliable supply chains.
Under the management of a prominent global logistics provider like DHL, central freight management ensures maximum transparency of transport routes. This not only enhances efficiency but also mitigates greenhouse gas emissions. Achieving this involves combining previously separate deliveries and increasingly adopting low and zero-carbon-emission transportation methods. This is where Vitesco Technologies’ expertise in electromobility meets DHL’s extensive experience, particularly as DHL operates the largest fleet of electric vehicles in the logistics industry.
