Leschaco Group, a global logistics provider, is set to inaugurate a state-of-the-art warehouse facility in Moerdijk, the Netherlands in the next month.
Strategically positioned between the busy ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp, this new chemical logistics centre in Moerdijk, is expected to ensure optimal connectivity to the European hinterland, facilitating cost-effective, quick and frequent transport of customer goods.
Boasting optimal multimodal transport links, including proximity to key seaports and vital waterways such as the Rhine and Meuse, the facility covers a sprawling area of 29,000 square meters, while it offers storage capacity for approximately 45,000 pallets across five distinct sections.
“The opening of our newest facility in Moerdijk is another milestone in Leschaco’s commitment to providing its customers with world-class solutions to their logistics challenges. This strategically located warehouse enables us to provide customized support to our global customers across multiple sectors, including chemicals, healthcare, automotive, industrial materials and consumer goods,” stated Sebastian Haebler, head of Global Contract Logistics.
Notably, four sections are specifically outfitted with CO2 extinguishing systems to ensure the safe handling of hazardous materials, while the fifth section is equipped with ESFR sprinklers tailored for general cargo protection.
Beyond its operational capacities, the new ADR warehouse in Moerdijk exemplifies Leschaco’s dedication to sustainability. Featuring solar panels on its roof, which fulfill a portion of its energy requirements, the facility integrates numerous eco-conscious initiatives.
These include electric underfloor heating, LED lighting, and adherence to top-tier building insulation standards. Moreover, its proximity to the port of Moerdijk facilitates eco-friendly transportation alternatives like barge and rail, further supported by the presence of e-charging stations catering to electric vehicles.
“We are happy to further expand Leschaco’s presence in contract logistics with the opening of our newest dangerous goods warehouse. This strategic facility in Europe enables us to meet the growing demand of our global customers in the region and reinforces our commitment to providing our customers with innovative and tailored supply chain solutions,” commented Constantin Conrad, CEO of the Leschaco Group.
