In a landmark move, DHL eCommerce and CTT Expresso have announced a strategic partnership aimed at creating a leading parcel network in Spain and Portugal. The collaboration is poised to transform the e-commerce and parcel delivery landscape in the region, offering unparallelled convenience, reliability, and efficiency.
Under the terms of the agreement, DHL eCommerce will acquire a 25% stake in CTT Expresso Portugal, while CTT Group will acquire a 25% stake in DHL eCommerce Spain. The partnership will also involve the transfer of DHL eCommerce Portugal to CTT Expresso and the creation of specialised joint ventures to enhance parcel processing and last-mile delivery.
The combined network will boast an impressive 20,000 service points, 22 hubs, and 257 depots in Spain and Portugal, as well as over 1,000 parcel lockers under the Locky brand. This extensive infrastructure will enable the partners to offer a daily capacity exceeding 1 million shipments, making them a dominant player in the Iberian parcel delivery market.
