CMA CGM is expiring the Port Congestion Surcharge (PCS) for cargo originating from North America and destined for the port of Matadi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The surcharge was applied to both dry and reefer cargo and amounted to US$200 per TEU.
“This move should positively impact trade and shipping operations in the region,” said CMA CGM in a statement.
