The Alajuela Feria in Alajuela, Costa Rica is filled with wonderful, unique, and low cost vegetables and fruit. In the event you’re a fruit lover or uncooked foodist, this can be a place you may need to cease.
Good mangoes of many sorts, tamarillos, cantaloupes, watermelons, and way more can be found right here.

My favorite place to go to save money with high quality produce and other products.
Try the ladyfinger bananas (the little ones). You'll ditch the Nam-wahs for those.
nvm
im so oucky going to thailand this november
i believe the unknown fruits that were in a palm-like bunch (like mini orange coconuts) are pejibaye, or peach palm (Bactris gasipaes)
All of that food at the Alajuela market is loaded with pesticides as well as all the other farmers markets in CR unless you go to one of the organic farmers markets.
the fruit known as pejivalle. is grown from a palm best part for me is the hard coconut like center
that palm fruit is call peach palm , you boil it with a little salt and you peel off the outer skin and you eat the yellow/orange flesh inside
Ive been here pretty good but I rate the Thai markets. What about you AP?
Thailand markets first.
CR markets second.
USA markets third
Australian markets 89th.
THanks Andrew. I thought maybe you zipped over to CR after the WFF '-)
Nice meeting you too, Itsy.
That farmer's market really IS amazing… thanks for capturing it on vid for us! Cheers, Susan

Peace, itsy
Definitely not.
Is everything organic?
I was there January and February of this year, Richard.
thanks Andrew! When were you in CR?
Thanks, Orlin.
Those palm fruits are called Chontaduros.
