Like Bob Ross says there are no mistakes, just happy accidents. When you throw away fruit that never made its way into a smoothie is the biggest mistake. I've never added water or milk into a smoothie, I like one cup of Greek yogurt and 2 or 3 of my favorite fruits often frozen like, berries, banana, cherries, pineapple, cantaloupe, Almonds, Chia seeds, you name it. Taste like a shake every morning for breakfast and usually 200 calories. I have a salad every day, I don't want greens in my smoothie. Protein powder is a joke, right? The whole theory of a smoothie is to use up those ripe fruits in a smoothie and eating healthy, so you have less fruit going to waste. Smoothies allow us to consume 3 times the fruit we would have consumed before we started eating them.
How do you prevent your smoothies from being bitter, seems no matter combination of vegies and fruits it just tastes bitter. Please help

And yes, adding in too much fruit spikes your blood sugar that one of the very things that you’re trying to avoid!!

Blender broke and waiting for my Ninja. Hopefully this week. I am on a candida diet and can’t wait to get the blender. Juicing doesn’t give me the fibre that I need for digestion that is not dealing with detoxification without giving me blockages. Can’t have any banana or pear with the diet but I don’t mind bitter. But nice tips, thank you:-)

For most folks watching this, your mistake is letting your extreme 'diet' get in the way. You need to lighten up about what to put in your smoothies…and trust that viewers can exercise common sense…

Hey, so, if you are the smoothie queen, how about some advice for people who want to do healthy smoothies that doesn't have that budget to be constantly changing up their ingredients and constantly using fresh ingredients. In fact, I would love to see a 30-day minimal budget smoothie challenge. (And I mean like…. only $100 for a months-worth of smoothies)
I think this is an important tip for people like me who hate wasting any bit of food. When I am finished with a thick smoothie (and I drink from the blender jar), I add a bit of liquid (milk, juice etc) to blend it. It makes sure I am drinking every bit of the smoothie and the blender is easier to clean afterwards.

I just do water and protein. 2 or three strawberries, and half a banana is my go to.
I nuke a sweet potato and put a 100 grams or so in. Just a chunk.
Go with isolate protien powder.

I use gelatin powder instead of collagen because it's just as good for you and costs less.
