Tree fruit business teams will obtain a share of federal funding to assist diversify export markets.
Teams that symbolize pears, apples, candy cherries, tart cherries and extra all have acquired a portion of a $300 million allocation from the Regional Agricultural Promotion Program, or RAPP, a U.S. Division of Agriculture funding mechanism to assist increase exports. The allocations have been introduced Could 21.
Began in 2023, RAPP changed the expired Agricultural Commerce Promotion Program that was established in 2018 to assist commodity teams make up for tariffs levied in opposition to American merchandise by nations responding to the Trump administration’s tariffs.
Each applications, in addition to the long-running Market Entry Program from the Farm Invoice, require matching funds.

—California Cherry Advertising and marketing and Analysis Board, $750,000.
—California Contemporary Fruit Affiliation, $1 million.

—Northwest Wine Coalition, $2.4 million.
—Pear Bureau Northwest, $4 million.
—U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council, $1.3 million.
—Washington Apple Fee, $7 million.
—Washington State Fruit Fee, $900,000.
—Wine Institute, $13 million.
